The Evangelical Free Church of Des Plainesis a diverse
congregation of people dedicated to following Jesus
Christ. Our members come from all ages and walks of
life, and represent many ethnic groups.
Our worship style is informal and contemporary, with
a focus on engaging music, meaningful prayer, and
Bible teaching that is firmly rooted in Scripture and
relevant to everyday life.
The purpose of The Evangelical Free Church of
Des Plaines is to glorify God by producing and
developing disciples, as prescribed in God's Word,
through worship, teaching, fellowship, and
evangelism.
A disciple is someone who has chosen to follow
Jesus Christ as their only hope of eternal life, and
is striving to follow His example in all areas of life.
We are a part of the Evangelical Free Church of
America (www.EFCA.org), a growing movement
of approximately 1,200 disciple-making churches
located in the United States and Canada. EFCA missionaries serve God around the world through
diverse ministries including hospitals, schools,
and Bible translation.
You can listen to the Word of God in one of three
languages: English, Spanish, or Greek. Listen to a sermon. Pastor Steve Hjelle is the senior pastor.
The Greek ministry is an independent ministry that
worships at our church but is not a part of the
EFCDP. It has its own church constitution, bylaws
and budget. The staff of the Greek Ministry are not
part of the EFCDP staff.
The spanish ministry's relationship with EFCDP
is a One Family (Una familia) model where we
grow and share facilities together with EFCDP.
The ministry is staffed by EFCDP and is
accountable to and a part of the EFCDP.
